Galilee is offering an EfM group starting in September on
Mondays from 8:30 am – 10:30 am.
EfM – Education for Ministry – the beloved program of study, worship, reflection, and community. Designed to be form lay people for life and work – to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world – EfM participants study the Bible, within its historical, literary, and cultural settings, as well as the history of Christianity and Christian theology and ethics. And most importantly, we reflect on and apply new learnings and insights to guide us in dealing with life’s challenges as people of faith.

The EfM launched a revamped and revised curriculum, featuring new texts, videos, podcasts, art, and essays, presented on an online learning platform, all of which offers rich, fascinating, and up-to-date materials. As with the traditional program, EfM Classic continues to offer a 4-year model: Old Testament Bible, New Testament, Church History, and Ethics & Theology, with participants registering for one year at a time. Seminar groups generally meeting in person at sponsoring churches or online and are led or “mentored” by trained facilitators.

A new and exciting voice from EfM is joining the Classic program, and is available to current participants, as well as new participants AND graduates – called EfM Wide Angle. The Wide Angle curriculum is a stand-alone year of study that provides participants with a look at all the topics in the 4-year program, in a survey format. All years learn and use the practice of theological reflection, a process that guides us together into new insights for exploring and living our faith in a challenging world.
