Accessibility Statement

Last updated: October 2026

Galilee Ministries of East Charlotte (“Galilee,” “we,” “us”) believes everyone belongs here, and that includes our website. We want every neighbor to be able to find a meal, sign up to volunteer, learn about our programs, and stay connected, whatever abilities or devices they use.

This statement covers our website, www.gmcharlotte.org, and also shares what to expect when you visit our campus at 3601 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205.

Our commitment

We’re working to make our website accessible to as many people as possible. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, as our guide. These are widely used standards for making websites easier to use for people with disabilities, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or captions.

What we’re doing
  • Adding text descriptions (alt text) to images so screen reader users know what each photo shows

  • Using clear headings and page structure so pages are easier to navigate

  • Writing in plain, welcoming language

  • Checking color contrast so text is easier to read

  • Making sure menus, buttons, and links work with a keyboard

  • Reviewing new pages and newsletters for accessibility as we add them

Accessibility is ongoing work, and we’ll keep improving as our website grows.

Known limitations

We’re still working on a few areas:

  • Schedules and flyers: Some event schedules and flyers are posted as images. We’re adding the same information as text, and in the meantime we’re happy to share any schedule by phone or email.

  • Older content: Some older blog posts and newsletters may not yet have full image descriptions.

  • Outside services: Some links take you to services we don’t control, such as PayPal (donations), Google Forms (volunteer and contact forms), Constant Contact (eNewsletter), Amazon (Lydia’s Pantry wishlist), and partner websites. Their accessibility may differ from ours.

If any part of our site is hard to use, please tell us. We’ll get you the information another way, such as by phone, by email, or in person.

Visiting our campus
  • Parking: Free parking is available in two lots, and both have accessible spaces.

  • Main entrance: The main entrance and welcome desk are in the second building, reached by the pathway between our two buildings.

  • Need help? If you have questions about getting around campus or need an accommodation for a program or event, contact us before you visit and we’ll help plan for your needs.

Feedback and contact

We welcome your feedback. If you run into a barrier on our website or campus, or have ideas for how we can do better, please reach out:
