NEIGHBORS CARING FOR NEIGHBORS

Food is Love

Some of our best moments happen around a table. Between Lydia's Pantry, our monthly Community Lunch, Nourish Up and Our Daily Bread (& Soup!), there's always enough to share.

Lydia's Pantry

Eternal God, who gives good gifts to all people, and who grants the spirit of generosity: Give us, we pray you, hearts always open to hear your word, that, following the example of your servant Lydia, we may show hospitality to those who are in any need or trouble; through Jesus Christ our Lord who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Community Lunch

Every month, we pull up chairs in Flag Hall and share a warm, lovingly prepared meal. Each lunch is hosted by a different group or congregation, so every month brings new flavors and new friends to the table.

🗓️  3rd Tuesday of the month (unless otherwise noted)

⏰  11:30 AM to 1:00 PM

📍  Galilee Flag Hall

Lunch is always free. Donations are appreciated but never expected, and everyone is welcome at the table.

Join us in hosting. Groups and volunteers help set up, cook, serve, and clean up. To host a lunch, email Executive Director Emily Parker at EDGalileeEast@gmail.com.

COMMUNITY PARTNER

Groceries with Nourish Up

Twice a week, our partners at Nourish Up turn Galilee into a client choice grocery pantry, where neighbors pick the foods that fit their family’s tables and tastes. Nourish Up runs the largest network of food pantries in North Carolina, and we’re grateful to share our space so good food and kindness can reach more of East Charlotte.

Before you come: A referral is required. To get one, call Nourish Up at 704.523.4333 or visit nourishup.org. This pantry serves residents of Mecklenburg County.

FRESH BREAD, WARM SOUP

Our Daily Bread (& Soup!)

Every month, volunteers bake fresh bread and simmer big pots of soup in the Galilee kitchen to share with neighbors. Since starting in March, we’ve shared an average of 150 loaves and 112 quarts each month, with new soup varieties all the time. Stay tuned for upcoming dates and times.

There’s always room for one more baker or stirrer, and no experience is needed. Keep an eye out for our next baking day and come be part of the abundance. 🌱
